There have been a lot of buzz around diets from top celebrities around the world. From Alicia Keys to Jennifer Aniston, the different celebrities endorse the diets that they believe and follow.

Here are some of the top celebrity diets at the moment.

Fast Weight loss Diets

1. The 5-factors diet

Highly-recommended by celebrities such as Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga, the 5-factors diet is created by celebrity trainer and fitness guru Harley Pasternak. The “five” in the 5-factors diet means that each meal includes only proteins, complex carbs, fibre, fat and fluids. Followers of this diet eat five meals a day with recipes that contain only five ingredients.

The goals per day are as follows:
– 65g or lesser of fat

– a low GI carb (less than 80)

– lean proteins

– 5 to 10 grams of fibre

– no more than 354ml of sugar-free drink

Interestingly, this diet also includes five workouts per week, broken down into five types of activities, but most celebrities appear to skip the workouts and only stick to the diet plan itself.

2. Keto Diet

A Keto Diet contains food with high amount of healthy fats such as nuts, avocado and fish. It is low in carbohydrates, usually between 5 to 20%. A standard diet consists of 30 to 50% of carbs, so the difference is relatively drastic. This diet aims to force the body into a state of “ketosis”, in which the body begins to burn fats instead of carbohydrates for fuel. It then results in enhanced fat burning and quick weight loss. Hollywood celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Kim Kardashian have endorsed the diet through their love for it.

3. Liquid Diet

The liquid diet works well if you are aiming for a quick fix on your weight. It is a favourite among some celebrities such as Gwen Stefani and Nicole Richie. Simply put, a liquid diet means that you replace real food with liquid meals and get your daily calories in the forms of drinks. Some liquid diets are limited to fruit or vegetable juices and shakes; others allow you to take a regular meal and replace two other meals with liquids. Some liquid diets involve a healthy snack or two as well. Liquid diets are not sustainable, however, and are not recommended for long-term diet plans.

4. Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting is more of a dieting pattern than a diet plan in itself. It is simply making a conscious decision to skip specific meals on purpose. Celebrities such as Ben Affleck, Beyoncé and Liv Taylor are great fans of intermittent fasting as it promises to burn fat and lose weight fast without changing their diets. The appeal comes much from the fact that this is sustainable and can be implemented anytime the follower wishes to do so. There are a few ways to do intermittent fastings such as the 16/8 protocol where you fast for 16 hours and only eat during an 8-hour period or the 24 hours protocol where you follow a regular meal schedule and then fast for 24 hours the following day. Either plan can work, and they are customisable, which means that you do not have to follow strictly to the dieting pattern.

5. The Macro Diet

The Macro diet takes counting your calories to the next level. Celebrity coach and personal trainer Heidi Powell and her husband Chris Powell swears by the Macro diet. “It completely changed my life,” she said. This is how macro counting works. First, you find out how many calories you need in a day, using factors such as age, weight, height and activity level. You can use either an online calorie calculator or speak with a nutrition professional. Next, you divide those calories into macros – carbs, proteins and fats. Generally, it will be a 30-40-30 formula, but it depends on the individual and could vary across different persons. The Macro diet is said to be a sustainable diet and to promote weight loss and lean muscle gains.
